In 1961, Donald Roy decided to leave his job working in the heat treat department of a textile machinery manufacturer and start a plating company in Greenville, South Carolina. Things sure have changed from the early days plating travelers for textile looms! Today, we serve some of the world’s best manufacturers of automobiles, trucks, and heavy industrial equipment.

Clifford Roy became VP of RMF in 1975. He started with the company in sales in 1969 after graduating from University of Kentucky with a degree in metallurgical engineering.

In the late 90’s, the shift to automotive took RMF in a new direction. The Bosch diesel fuel rail was a “game changer.”

In the early 2000’s, the RMF2 Plant was constructed for Continental and ZF business.

In 2018, Roy Metal Finishing was acquired by Aalberts Industries N.V., a public Dutch technology company, founded in 1975 and based in 50 countries worldwide.
